Ephesians 2:8-9 makes it clear: “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

The Gospel message itself is defined by the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. Paul wrote plainly in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4: “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:”
In John 11:25, Jesus said: “Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:” As one can see, belief in the risen Christ is what brings spiritual life to the sinner.
Importantly, the Resurrection assures believers of their own future resurrection and eternal life. Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 4:14: “Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.” Jesus promised in John 14:19 the same: “Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.”
The meaning of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ is the assurance that salvation is finished, the debt of sin is paid, and eternal life is available to all who believe. It confirms that the Work of the Cross was sufficient, and it offers hope that transcends death.
